Short stays can be booked with a minimum of 3 nights. A minimum booking period of 5 nights is applicable to dates over Thanksgiving, Independence Day, & the Xmas & New Year periods.
STEP INSIDE
Everything in the home is top of the line – recently totally redecorated with many upgrades installed including new hot tub, new double oven, new fridge/freezer, new electronic equipment including theatre room projector, large flat screen televisions, DVD players, Blu-Ray players, new flooring & carpeting, Oklahoma Joe Smoker and BBQ, and new A/C units. All the bathrooms were fully re-modelled in April 2022.
A outdoor kitchen with Travertine flooring and top of the range equipment was installed in September 2022 and an adjacent 320 sq ft entertainment deck overlooking the lake.
A 600 sq ft loft conversion was completed in 2021 creating a 4th level to the property. This added a large bedroom with 3 Queen-size beds, ensuite bathroom, seating area with 65″ TV, and a dormer area with seating and magnificent views overlooking the lake.
A stairway from just a few feet from the home provides access to the lakeside, where a boat dock has been constructed with a huge 16ft x 16ft deck overlooking the lake and a large adjacent seating area – an idyllic setting for a cold drink as the sun sets. “This place is amazing, it was great getaway for our big family. We truly enjoyed watching movies on the huge screen of the cinema, playing billiards in the basement and the bonfire by the lake. The house was very clean, and everything was well kept, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our home made meals. We went to Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg for day trips, which were about 30 mins drive from the lake house. Overall would recommend this house and would gladly come again in the future.”

The home’s location is perfect, with it being far enough from Gatlinburg to avoid all the traffic/tourists, while still being close enough to where the drive in isn’t terrible. It is in a rental cabin area, but the property itself is private. The driveway is long enough to where you can’t even hear other people and there is plenty of parking. The view of the lake is amazing. The home has a ton of amenities with cups, plates, pots, pans, towels etc. all provided. The house was fantastic as every room was kept in great quality, and a ton of space for all of us. We loved using the great amenities such as the hot tub, pool table, deck and fire pit. There is a sound system in both the basement and the common room, both of which worked very well. The couch/beds were extremely comfortable. I would recommend this house for any large group. If I had the chance. I would definitely stay here again. 100% worth the money”
“This home was terrific for our “sibling reunion”, which included six families off and on throughout the week. The lake house was at the end of the cove, which was also near the pool. So it was nice and quiet yet close enough to a marina and other fun things. The water was clear and cool. The kitchen was my favorite part inside the house. That area boasted a huge island that made it convenient for many people to cook and talk simultaneously. Two ovens made lots of bacon! The theater room was huge and oh so comfortable, and we had lots of folks falling asleep in there. It was like the people on the screen where life-size! While the layout of one bedroom upstairs was a little quirky, it’s size and view made up for it. The kids’ wing, with the many bunkbeds and little Rooms coming off the main room of bunkbeds, made the rest of the bedrooms elsewhere for the adults even better. There is more to say, but I have said enough. One of the biggest things about this house is the responsiveness of the owners. They call back immediately, are extremely kind and caring, and welcomed all my many, many questions. These folks really put their hearts into this house and care about your good time.”

“David’s lake house was SPECTACULAR. All the amenities were provided and easy to find, the views were very scenic and beautiful, and the service/communication couldn’t have been better. The lake was very nice to go out on and spend time during the day and the decks and porches were a great relaxing place during the days and nights. All of my friends and I had a great time and there is ample capacity for group events and relaxing summer trips. David and his manager were always available for help/questions during the trip and even recommended fun activities in the area. David will answer any questions you have about the place beforehand and provide any extra information about the area that you need to know. “The house was comfortable, spacious, clean and well appointed. The deck over the water and the fire-pit were very nice. And we enjoyed the lake, finding it to be very un-populated and without much tree debris. The property manager was super responsive. Plenty of laundry soap on-hand, and if you’re staying for more than a few days, bring your own soap and shampoo. Hairdryer too! We recommend the place and look forward to visiting again sometime soon.”
“We were trying to find a place that would hold the 18 members of our family. This house worked out very well! It was great because we could prepare our own meals in the huge kitchen! We spent many nights on the porch and the views were beautiful! The only concerns we had was due to the smell of sulphur in the water and showers, but we got used to that after a few days.”
“My co-workers and I stayed at David’s beautiful home for Memorial Day weekend and the house was more than what we had ever imagined. The house was really clean and everything was well taken care of. The theater room was comfortable with lots of seating, the pool table is well taken care of and the living room is big with a large ceiling. The view from the back porch is priceless(woke up in the morning had some orange juice and just enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains and the river)! There was plenty of room for all 18 of us and everything we needed from cooking pans to toilet paper was also available. David was an awesome host and was available to contact at anytime. We had an issue with the alarm( one of the coworkers activated while we were getting ready to leave) but one quick call to David solve that issue. We had an amazing time and will definitely come back. I would definitely recommend David’s lake house for an amazing gateway.”
“We had a group of 20 with small kid and adults and this home was perfect with the best location. We enjoyed evenings on the deck over looking the water and mornings sitting on the patio enjoying meals together. The home is large and fit everyone without ever feeling too tight. The only call outs would be that bunk beds are all in the same room, which was a bit unclear from the photos on the listing. Also, there is not a dock so we unfortunately couldn’t keep rented boats over night but it was easy to hop in the boats from the steps and load in coolers and babies etc. Overall, we had the best weekend that was too short! We would love to return but this time hopefully can stay longer!”

“My group of 15 had an exceptional time here. The house is gorgeous and clean. We especially enjoyed the swim deck, theater room, and ample bedroom space. The views are beautiful and there is an excellent spot to swim right off the lake. The hot tub and balcony are very comfortable spots for hanging as well. Some things for potential guests to be aware of: The swim deck is not well equipped for tying down a boat. Only suitable for pickup and dropoff. The house is on well water, and the gas from the well smells funky, like sulfur. It it pretty offputting at first, but you get used to it. Garbage dropoff is at the front of the community, about 1/4 mile away, and there is nowhere to store full bags before taking the drive up. A large can for temporary storage just outside the garage or under the deck would be a big improvement. No smoking allowed on the balcony. This seemed a little unreasonable, but the swim deck by the lake is a good alternative. None of those potential drawbacks would prevent us from booking here again. The owner group was professional and responsive to issues as they came up.”

“We had the best time! This house was just perfect. Gorgeous in every way. Every room was immaculate and super clean too. Tons of bedrooms for the 4 families and the kids space was just perfect! We had 8 adults and 8 children and had tons of room. The lake access was amazing. We spent most of our time at the water. We brought floats and paddle boards and enjoyed the private dock and private lake space. The water was perfect for swimming. We had kids ranging from 4 years old to 11 years old and had no issues. The fire pit at night was perfect for roasting marshmallows. We also loved the theatre room for movies and hanging out in the evenings. David the host was so wonderful and responsive to any questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was like a private lake front oasis. We only wished we would have booked more days! We highly recommend and cannot wait to come back.”

We spent most days floating right off the dock. The house is tucked back into a cove and there was minimal boat traffic (even on 4th of July weekend). We had kids from ages 13 to 1 and they all had a blast.”

“The house was plenty big for our grown children and their families. We fell in love with the lake. It was the perfect temperature and didn’t have a mucky or grassy bottom. There are plenty of family activities to do within 45 minutes of the house. We rented a pontoon boat for the day which was a lot of fun for all. The kids loved the movie room and the men enjoyed the pool table. The hosts were responsive with all my questions. Lake life is the best, we didn’t want to leave!”

“The Lake House is gorgeous! It is quite spacious and set up perfectly for a large family or several families to stay together. The kitchen is large and reasonably well stocked for a rental. Bedding was comfortable – sheets and towels are not threadbare like other rentals, but lovely and fluffy! Plenty of seating for everyone, including portable chairs for the dock. The game room was a hit with the kids and the hot tub an extra bonus for the adults. But the lake… the lake is the main attraction! So many “lake houses” (including in this development) are not actually on the lake… this one is! Just a short flight of steps down to the firepit and deck area and then right into the lake. Douglas Lake is gorgeous and relatively quiet, so our family could swim and float around the dock with no issues from boats. There is a dock in the community (a 5 minute drive) and a pool, which unfortunately was closed due to COVID19 restrictions. A few suggestions: bring your own beach towels and unbreakable cups for the lake (the cups in the house are large tumblers), don’t forget your hairdryer (there was not one in the house), and bring all of your food & drink with you when you arrive as the closest grocery is quite a ways on windy roads. The best part of this rental is the owner, Arthur. He is a lovely British gentleman and made sure we had everything we needed. His son, David, made sure the house was ready and our lock codes were set. Two wonderful hosts! It was a wonderful vacation and we would love to return!”
This place was perfect for our very large family. Every year, we head to the Smoky Mountains to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday. and every year we have issues. The Lake House was not only BEAUTIFUL, it was perfect. The lake is clean and pretty. We never left the house once we got there. We hope this is our forever place to celebrate “Nana’s” birthday! Extremely well equipped for cooking meals. The movie theater was fantastic and we watched movies every night, have to say the movie theater was very user friendly.
